Competition winners for the King Salman Park in Riyadh have been announced

The Team of Gerber Architekten (Rainer Schmidt Landschaftsarchitekten, Büro Happold, Dan Pearlman) was awarded third prize in the competition for the King Salman Park in Riyadh. The design was based on the idea of a star-shaped green oasis, connecting the centre of Riyadh with the surrounding areas. The boundary of the park was given careful attention to achieve a close intermeshing between the former airport site with the existing urban structure. The different garden areas combine together to form one of the largest inner-city parks in the world.
