The new quarter opens up towards the surroundings. Equally, it is harmonically integrated. The small-spatial existing buildings near to Lehnbachstrasse are responded to with a small-spatial grain of urban fabric. The car traffic is caught immediately at the border of the site. The plaza of generations is the focus-area of the new urbanity in place. The plaza is almost free from cars (up to the drive-way to the care-home), offering a generous entrée for the new quarter and offers a flowing transfer for the public spaces into the adjacent generations’ park. It is framed at three sides in the ground-floor-zone by arcades. Functions like daily care, common room and main entrance into the care home, meeting place, hair dresser, room for fitness training etc. give life to this public space. The residential field of built form gives access to all residences for tenants and for property ownership. Groups of trees and a large playground provide for a high quality of staying. The built form arrangement generates strong links between the urban open spaces and the landscape, creating an open and well greened quarter. The small spatial differentiation of open spaces into the direction of Lehnbachstrasse is continued and extended.
