The new Rheha Center in Bayreuth forms the urban edge of the ensemble, consisting of the Lohengrin Therme and the adjacent health-center. Thus, a spa facility occurs as a green core in between the new building and the existing ones. The axis of the spa promenade is taken to build the new entrance axis of the Rheha center, thus strengthening the relationship with Lohengrin Therme, too. The new architecture is strongly marked by its topographical context. It bends in a slender way alongside the hang rigne, following the contures of the site. Thus, a dynamic and nevertheless clearly structured body of built form emerges, of which the form provides a modern hotel character for the road course of the Thermenallee and formates the entrance floor with therapy center. The two-floor bed house builds the focus with its curved form, oriented on the contures, and stands out clearly different from the base. The two parts of built form are connected by the market-place, generously laid out and light-flooded. It stretches from the entrance in the ground floor area as a place of arrival throughout the buildings into the care bullets. The terracing, resulting from the offset of the building parts, allows for keeping the intervention into the terrain mostly low. The topography is used in order to reduce the height of buildings on one side and to respect the adjacent residential buildings consequently, it serves on the other side for creating different open spaces with their themes and qualities. The core is caused by the roof landscape, covering the whole base and being established as gardens for patients.
